DISCOVERY VITALITY FITNESS ASSESSMENT
This 45 minute assessment was designed by Discovery Vitality to give you an accurate and personalised understanding of your fitness.
HOW MANY VITALITY POINTS CAN I EARN?
Discovery Vitality members can earn up to 35,000 Active Points per year, made up of:
- Up to 25,000 Active Points for general fitness activities and workouts.
- Up to 10,000 additional Active Points based on your Vitality Cardio Fitness Level, which is determined through VO₂ max testing as part of a Vitality Fitness Assessment.
The point allocation tiers for your Cardio Fitness Level are:
- Low: 1,000 points
- Fair: 2,500 points
- Good: 4,500 points
- Excellent: 7,000 points
- Superior: 10,000 points
HOW DO I EARN MORE POINTS?
Your biokineticist can assist you with identifying the areas that need improvement and prescribe appropriate exercise intervention. If you scored full points (10000) for your first VFA assessment, no further VFA tests are necessary for the year. If however your results are lower than 10000 points, you then have the option to repeat the assessment again a minimum of 90 days later. This allows sufficient time for you to implement a fitness program geared towards improving your results. Please note that you will only receive the balance of the points if you score higher in your second test.
PAYMENT

If you are on a Medical Scheme plan that covers the cost, you can claim this amount back from your day-to day benefits, if you have sufficient funds available.
